The Korean Electronics Show 2010 (KES 2010) is considered to be the greatest electronics show in Asia. It was held October 12th to 15th at KINTEX, which is located in Ilsan, Korea.

The 41st KES 2010 was held in Korea after the IFA (Internationale Funkausstelung) was held in Berlin (Germany) last September. As it was the first opportunity for Korean companies to show off the high-end technology and products that they introduced at the IFA on their home turf, leading companies in the electronics industry competed more vigorously than ever to promote themselves.

LG Electronics emphasized its competitiveness in TV technology by showcasing the world’s largest FULL LED TV and its magnificent NANO FULL LED TV. It also showed a number of unique products, which incorporate LG’s cutting-edge technology, including Smart TVs and 3D Products, showcasing LG’s technological leadership in each area.

LG was nestled in a booth 1,368 m2 in size, under the banner ‘Smart Life, Smart LG,’ a slogan that reflects how smart products enrich our lives. LG exhibited a real-sized F1™ racing car model at the front of the booth, giving the company a premium and dynamic image, while reminding visitors of its sponsorship of Formula One™, one of the world’s three most popular sporting events.

This is the Multi-vision wall, which really wowed visitors as soon as they walked in the entrance. The ever-changing video images shown in the Multi-vision gave visitors their first taste of the world of INFINIA.

At 72 Inches, the World’s largest FULL LED TV – LEX9

Dwarfing mainstream LCD and Plasma TVs, which are usually built to sizes up to 50-60 inches, the LEX9 boasts a 72-inch screen, the largest among LED LCD TVs, not to mention 3D TVs.

Behind the LEX9 display is OLED, a next-generation display technology. The 0.29cm wafer-thin OLED display consumes only one-third the energy consumed by typical LCD displays, for which it has been dubbed ‘The Dream Display.’ Feedback from visitors at the 3D OLED display zone was overwhelmingly positive, confirming LG’s technological edge.

With their thin, crystal-clear screens, the 3D OLED TVs impressed KES 2010 visitors. Some of the visitors who were captivated by the clear image quality of OLED could be seen immediately searching related products using their smartphones.

In the other zone, LG’s first ever TV with Nano technology, the LEX8 was displayed. This product, which captured the crowd’s attention during IFA 2010, attracted visitors’ eyes with its outstanding design and picture quality.

The LEX8 uses NANO Lighting Technology to disperse the LED light more evenly and effectively around the screen, producing pictures that are brighter, clearer and smoother than ever before. With its NANO Lighting Technology, the LEX8 also boasts an exceptionally slim line called INFINIA Design, with the slimmest depth (0.88cm) and narrowest bezel (1.25cm) on any FULL LED TV on the market today.

As was the case in IFA 2010, it was the Smart TV zone that attracted the most visitors. Many of the visitors, including several from overseas who had come to Korea specifically for the KES 2010, wondered about the features and benefits of LG Smart TV, proving that there is growing interest in Smart TVs worldwide.

The visitors were particularly interested in downloadable applications for Smart TVs, and in learning how to use them. Visitors also noted LG’s improved user experience, provided with the Magic Motion Remote Control and Graphic User Interface (GUI) based on NetCast™, LG’s own platform.

The visitors were clearly taken with the excellent picture quality and beautiful design of the LG Smart TV. And, even though the specifications have not been fully revealed yet, the intuitive UI and its smart features left a strong impression.

Behind the Smart TV zone, there were 3D Projector and Home Theater System zones, where a variety of LG Home Entertainment products using 3D Technology were displayed for visitors to experience first-hand.

In these experience zones, guests could experience a FULL HD 3D Projector, a 3D TV and a 3D Home Theater System.

Visitors had a chance to watch movies with a 3D Projector in a darkened room. They were able to enjoy a real cinematic experience through the 200-inch screen.

In addition, many people enjoyed trying a variety of 3D Home Theater Systems, Blu-ray Disc™ players and TVs in a single zone. The huge line of visitors waiting to get their hands on these products at these 3D zones showed a growing interest in 3D products.

The 3D Home Theater room also included electronic massage chairs from LG so that visitors could rest while experiencing the product. The combination of a ‘show zone’ and a ‘rest zone’ was much appreciated by the tired festival visitors, giving a good impression of the LG brand.

In addition, the LG booth showcased other products like cell phones, refrigerators and cleaners, as well as 3D laptop computers, helping LG live up to its ‘Smart Life, Smart LG’ slogan. Interestingly, there were more female visitors and visitors from a number of different age brackets who attended the KES. It’s clear that people from all demographic groups are taking a keen interest in the latest electronic devices and we can certainly expect more convenience, more ‘Smart Life’ with LG!
